Civil society advocacy for inclusive and fair elections in Moldova, compliant with EU and OSCE/ODIHR recommendations and human rights commitments (Inclusive Elections), 2017/391-674
The project will address recommendations on inclusive elections that are not covered by other non-state actors involved in promoting democratic elections. Using evidence-based analysis, the action will strengthen the dialogue with political parties to adopt internal procedures and practices conducive to inclusive participation, with specific focus on the inclusion of Roma and other ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and women. The project will strengthen the capacity of civil society and enable NGOs to monitor elections from the equality perspective and advocate with CEC, Ministry of Justice, MPs and members of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia the necessity to amend the electoral law in compliance with recommendations of the EU, OSCE/ODIHR and international and regional human rights law.
The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the consortium of following organizations: East-Europe Foundation, Piligrim Demo, Union of Young Roma “Tarna Rom” and Center Partnership for Development.
Oc1. Strengthen the civil society dialogue with political actors for inclusive political participation of women, Roma and other ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities.
Oc2. Advocate the necessity to amend the electoral law from the perspective of equality and non-discrimination, compliant to the recommendations of the EU, OSCE/ODIHR and Moldova’s human rights commitments.
Oc3. Empower under-represented groups to stand as candidates and demand inclusive elections.
